One of the loveliest umbels we grow, Orlaya has beautiful lacy flowers and soft ferny foliage. It is a wonderful filler for bouquets and pairs so well with all the best blooms of spring!

Great for filling gaps in the garden with frothy white clouds, and grows to around 60cm so is great for the front of the border or edges of a cutting bed. 

Orlaya dislikes root disturbance, so we recommend planting gently with the rootball intact. Once it has established you can leave a few heads to go to seed and it will gladly make itself at home in your garden - our kids call the seed Spiky Bug Seeds with their prickly outer. 

NOTES ON GROWING

Height: 40cm+

Spacing: 25cm

Harvest: Orlaya can be a bit on the wilty side if not fully hydrated or harvested at the right time. Best to harvest in the evening and leave to hydrate in deep water overnight, or if cut in the morning be sure to let rest for a few hours before arranging. Make sure to harvest when the main flower is fully open, and you can trim any wilty side shoots, or you can let the first flower go over and use as a textural element.
