Cut Flower Agrostemma/Corncockle Seedling Pack
Agrostemma githago
Cut flower Agrostemma seedlings, grown by Gray Floral NZ and shipping NZ wide.
Agrostemma is one of the plants that is most often commented on whenever I have it bunches or when visitors see the garden. It is tall and wispy, but deceivingly sturdy and it gives the most gorgeous movement to both bouquets and the garden.
The Ocean Pearls is the first we grew, and it has perfect crisp white blooms with dainty gold fleck. The Light Rose is a new addition to the seed family and is the most perfect shade of palest pink.
A slender growing plant, you can pack them fairly tightly if growing for cuts - between 15-20cm. It grows well in the back to middle of the border, slotted into small gaps between perennials and roses, and is at its glorious best when planted in drifts.
A happy but not overly enthusiastic self sower, it will replace itself if you leave it to set seed.
A hardy annual, Corncockle can be planted from autumn throughout winter for spring flowering, but I have found it still produces lovely stems almost year round.

All our seedlings are grown in a custom cut flower mix which contains Trichoderma to assist in healthy root development and resistance to root pathogens. To give your seedlings the best start in your garden we recommend soaking them in a weak seaweed feed (or one of our "Seedling Shots") before planting.
We are proud to be partnering with Sustaina Grow to package our seedlings in a wool wrap that maintains moisture and protects the seedlings in transit. On arrival, take your plants out of the box and give them a good drink of water - you can leave them wrapped in the wool to do this! When you're ready to plant or pot on you can unwrap the seedlings, but they will happily spend a couple of days in their wool blanket before planting.
This wool liner makes a wonderful mulch mat that can be used with your seedlings or around any plant in your garden. Everything apart from labels (which we hope you'll use in the garden and time and time again) and stickers are compostable, in an effort to keep our shipping sustainable for the environment.
