Cut Flower Dianthus Sweet Series Seedling Pack
Dianthus barbatus
Cut Flower Dianthus Sweet White seedlings, grown in Marlborough by Gray Floral, shipping NZ wide.
The Sweet Series Dianthus has been bred specifically for cut flower production and it really is a workhorse in the cutting patch. It is super productive, producing lots of tall straight stems over a long period of time. If you get your plants in over autumn/winter you'll get several flushes throughout the spring and summer. Depending on your climate you may even get a good couple of years from your plants. Very uniform growth and performs well both in the garden or in a tunnel, though they actually prefer nice cool growing temperatures in order to get good branching from the base.
Dianthus is beautifully scented, produces stunning clusters of flower on tall stems that are just as usable when the florets are still beginning to open and showing lots of green, or in full flower like delicate pom poms. Perfect for bouquet use or stunning in a vase on it's own.
Sweet White is a beautiful pure white that goes with just about anything!
Pink Magic is a mix of white and pink blooms on every stem, stunning in mixed bouquets.
Coral is in the super bright end of the colour range, brilliant for adding pops of colour to a bouquet.

All our seedlings are grown in a custom cut flower mix which contains Trichoderma to assist in healthy root development and resistance to root pathogens. To give your seedlings the best start in your garden we recommend soaking them in a weak seaweed feed (or one of our "Seedling Shots") before planting.
We are proud to be partnering with Sustaina Grow to package our seedlings in a wool wrap that maintains moisture and protects the seedlings in transit. On arrival, take your plants out of the box and give them a good drink of water - you can leave them wrapped in the wool to do this! When you're ready to plant or pot on you can unwrap the seedlings, but they will happily spend a couple of days in their wool blanket before planting.
This wool liner makes a wonderful mulch mat that can be used with your seedlings or around any plant in your garden. Everything apart from labels (which we hope you'll use in the garden and time and time again) and stickers are compostable, in an effort to keep our shipping sustainable for the environment.
