Cut Flower Foxglove Cafe Creme Seedling Pack
Digitalis lanata
Cut Flower Foxglove seedlings, grown in Marlborough by Gray Floral, shipping NZ wide.
Foxgloves really do create a place for the fairies in the cutting garden - there is something so special about a foxie patch at golden hour. They're one of our favourite 'spike' cut flowers and they add a touch of magic to bouquets.
Cafe creme is a biennial foxglove, which requires a period of vernalization (or time at cold temperatures) to initiate their flowering in spring, so we have made sure these plants will be big enough to undergo this winter treatment and should flower beautifully for you in their first spring. Biennal foxgloves sown later in autumn/spring may not flower until the following spring.
This delicate foxglove is quite unlike any other we've grown. Compact plants, with slender dark stems packed with cappucino speckled florets and a white lip. Dark strappy foliage, and so elegant in both the border and a bouq, this is a must grow. Happy in full sun or part shade.
Foxies are heavy feeders - make sure to plant them into well fed soil, and throw some food their way in early spring and again after the first flush.
*All parts of the foxglove plant and flower are toxic if ingested by people or animals. Please be aware of this when planting and arranging*

All our seedlings are grown in a custom cut flower mix which contains Trichoderma to assist in healthy root development and resistance to root pathogens. To give your seedlings the best start in your garden we recommend soaking them in a weak seaweed feed (or one of our "Seedling Shots") before planting.
We wrap our seedlings bareroot in newspaper to maintain moisture and pack them with utmost care. We recommend if you're not ready to plant them immediately that you do pot them up until it's time for them to go in the garden, and be sure to give them a good water on arrival.
We are proud to be partnering with Sustaina Grow to package our seedlings in a wool outer that maintains moisture and protects the seedlings in transit. This wool liner makes a wonderful mulch mat that can be used with your seedlings or around any plant in your garden. Everything apart from labels (which we hope you'll use in the garden and time and time again) and stickers are compostable, in an effort to keep our shipping sustainable for the environment.
